Of Rainy Days, Little Sisters, Frogs, Farms and Barn Life

If you haven't noticed already...I've been doing some pretty random posts lately. :) We've had a lot going on around here, and it's been kinda hard to think up of an actual post that has a specific subject line!
Anyway, on with the random post: once again, we're waiting for Stacey to come out and get the horses. He was supposed to be here this morning at nine. My brother and I waited at the barn...and waited...and waited again. It is now 2:11 PM. Ooooh well. I did get Red's mane braided and fixed up all nice. I took some picture while I was up there, and a video, too. In fact, I'm watching them download right now. :) This post is going to have lots of picture in it.
Now, you might be wondering a
bout the "frog" part of the post. It all started Tuesday evening. Nathan, myself and our little sister Rebekah were all outside on the front porch waiting for everyone to arrive for Bible Study, and it was raining REALLY hard. We had the umbrellas ready. As we were sitting about waiting, we heard this strange noise. It was coming from the hostas right in front of us. Curious as to what it was, I ran out there real quick in the rain and waited for the noise again. There it was. Finally, we figured it out. It was a frog. Well, I was getting soaked, so I quickly moved some of theside and there he was, sitting there underneath them. I didn't have time to see him further, so we let him alone and continued our watch. The next day, which was yesterday, it was raining again late in the afternoon. Rebekah and I went out on the front porch, and I went to find the frog. The evening before I had picked him up once, and he croaked the whole time. It was really neat. Anyway, I got him out, and Rebekah and I just sat there on the porch and watched him. Now, as most of you know, Rebekah has Downsyndrom. It causes slow development and learning abilities, but Bekah, (as

we call her) learns much faster that most
Downsyndrom children. (She's ten.) Well, I couldn't take picture and hold the frog at the same time, (who was trying to get out of my grasp,) so I gave her the camera. That was the best mistake in my life. :D We sat on the porch for almost forty minutes just taking a bunch of silly pictures. She took some, I took some. So I've decided to post some of them just for the fun of it. For your sakes, I'm only going to post the mild ones...some of our facial expressions got pretty crazy! :D

Yesterday, while I was waiting for Stacey to come, I took a bunch of pictures as well. On the way up to the pasture to feed the horses that morning, I took a bunch of the scenery and so on. Here they are. I really liked the ones of the horses grazing in the flowers. I was all the way up at the top of the hill and they were at the bottom, and I was surprised at how far my camera could zoom and give me good quality. Once again, up at the barn, I had a fun time taking a bunch of pictures. While I was in the tack room, I remembered that there was a mouse family living under one of our saddles, so I took my camera and snapped a couple of pictures. They turned out really cute! :) During the FOUR hours that I was up there waiting, Silkie lay down. I love it when one of the horses lie down...it's so cute! I was going to go over and pet her, but Red bullied her out of the stall before I could. All of my horses were being very lazy yesterday. It was hot and humid, and the barn was relatively cool compared to outside. I braided Red's hair and fixed him all up. He just sort of stood there and let me do it. That was fun.
Anyway, that's my very random post for the day. I apologize for not having a goal for my posts...hopefully that will change soon!

In Christ,
~Miss Rose

P.S. For you girls, I found a neat idea for your rooms or anywhere around the house: you can take a decorative bowl and find any sort of flowers you want, as long as they are cut almost to the flower itself and are small enough to fit in the bowl. In my case, I took rhododendron flowers. What you do is you fill the bowl up with water, not quite to the top, and sort of layer the flowers in there. It creates a really neat effect and looks lovely. Here is a picture of mine.
Enjoy!

Of Bathing Horses and Home-made Movies

On Friday, the farrier came out to shoe the horses. We went up to the barn and waited, and when he came, I held the horses while Nathan kept the others back. Red has had this scaly, scabby stuff on his forehead for a while now, and he keeps on loosing hair all over his body, even though he's far past the shedding process. As I was up at Red's head holding the halter, I began to look at it closely and sort of pick at it. Well, I took one of the pieces off, and there was this yucky, infected stuff underneath it. So I asked the farrier what it was, and he said that it's some sort of fungus or rainrot. He said that the best thing to do for it would be to give him a good bath with a special kind of shampoo....

Saturday, I went up to the barn and put Red's halter on. We were g
oing to give him a bath in the front yard. Of course, I was looking forward to it...it's not every day that you get to see a horse in your front yard! :) Red is a good horse, and he let us do it without a struggle. We (mom and I) washed every inch of his body and soaped him up really good. He was SO clean and shiny! Well...you know what he did as soon as we took him back up to the pasture? Got down in the mud and rolled. Oh well...that's my horse for you! That evening, I found that Silkie and Belle had the same stuff on their backs. Once again. We washed the horses. Belle did pretty well, and you should have heard Silkie up in the pasture neighing for her. She was rather upset. When it was Silkie's turn, Belle was the one to get upset. She ran around the pasture neighing and kicking. Silkie was a bundle of nerves and would hardly stay still for two minutes straight, but we did get her done after a few nerve-wrecking moments.
And now for an update on Belle:
We didn't get her done last week. Stacey was supposed to pick her up Saturday, but that didn't work because we had to bathe the horses, so he was going to pick them up that evening. Something came up and he didn't show. So. Here I sit at the computer desk, and in my room bluejeans and work shirt on my bed JUST encase he comes. :D

Also, on Friday, my brother and I decided to go down the road from our house to Amos road, a little gravel road with lots of woods around it. I'm sure we were quite a sight: Nathan in his full blown army get-up, gun slung over shoulder and helmet cocked at an angl
e on his head, and me with a tape recorder, two cameras, and holding Nathan's mask. Yup. We were off to film a short movie. We set up in a thick area of pines, and I held the tape recorder with the camera balancing on it. We were gone for two and a half hours and ended up with eleven minutes of movie. All in all, it was really good. This is the "cover" for the short movie:

If you would like to see it, go to Nathan's blog HERE. (This is me holding Nathan's gun. He took the picture right when I turned to see if a car was coming.:)

And, for a little fun, I've decided to put a short video of Silkie. I was up at the barn, and she was very sleepy. Just thought I'd put it up! :)

Well, I know that this post hasn't been very exciting, but, I just needed to do one. Thanks for bearing with me! :)

El Dorado & Liberty Belle

Everyone...
Meet El Dorado! The soon-to-be father of Liberty Belle's foal!
(
It's always good to keep a positive view when it comes to foaling, you know.:)
He is a BEAUTIFUL palomino colored Paint stallion, with a very good build. The man we bought Belle from is picking her up tomorrow morning...ALONG WITH THE OTHER TWO HORSES! We're trying to let our pasture grow, so he will be taking Silkie and Red along with him to keep in his pasture until ours has a chance to take off. I'LL MISS MY HORSES!!! :*(
He will be keeping all three of them for about a month, and hopefully the pasture will grow by then.
Meanwhile, we've got to make sure that Belle is in cycle, or she WON'T get pregnant. Even if the other horses weren't going, he'd be keeping Belle for about two weeks to make sure.

Anyway, I just thought I'd give you an update! The above two pictures are of El Dorado and Liberty Belle.

Enjoy and please keep praying that all goes well!

A Sad Day in the History of Our Nation

Today, June 1st, 2009, Barak Obama has issued a proclamation for the United States of America.
Thus is as follows:
(emphasis added, on my part)

THE WHITE HOUSE

Office of the Press Secretary

___________________________________________________________
For Immediate Release June 1, 2009

LESBIAN, GAY, BISEXUAL, AND TRANSGENDER PRIDE MONTH, 2009
- - - - - - -
BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA
A PROCLAMATION

Forty years ago, patrons and supporters of the Stonewall Inn in New York City resisted police harassment that had become all too common for members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) community. Out of this resistance, the LGBT rights movement in America was born. During LGBT Pride Month, we commemorate the events of June 1969 and commit to achieving equal justice under law for LGBT Americans.

LGBT Americans have made, and continue to make, great and lasting contributions that continue to strengthen the fabric of American society. There are many well-respected LGBT leaders in all professional fields, including the arts and business communities. LGBT Americans also mobilized the Nation to respond to the domestic HIV/AIDS epidemic and have played a vital role in broadening this country's response to the HIV pandemic.

Due in no small part to the determination and dedication of the LGBT rights movement, more LGBT Americans are living their lives openly today than ever before. I am proud to be the first President to appoint openly LGBT candidates to Senate-confirmed positions in the first 100 days of an Administration. These individuals embody the best qualities we seek in public servants, and across my Administration -- in both the White House and the Federal agencies -- openly LGBT employees are doing their jobs with distinction and professionalism.

The LGBT rights movement has achieved great progress, but there is more work to be done. LGBT youth should feel safe to learn without the fear of harassment, and LGBT families and seniors should be allowed to live their lives with dignity and respect.

My Administration has partnered with the LGBT community to advance a wide range of initiatives. At the international level, I have joined efforts at the United Nations to decriminalize homosexuality around the world. Here at home, I continue to support measures to bring the full spectrum of equal rights to LGBT Americans. These measures include enhancing hate crimes laws, supporting civil unions and Federal rights for LGBT couples, outlawing discrimination in the workplace, ensuring adoption rights, and ending the existing "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy in a way that strengthens our Armed Forces and our national security. We must also commit ourselves to fighting the HIV/AIDS epidemic by both reducing the number of HIV infections and providing care and support services to people living with HIV/AIDS across the United States.

These issues affect not only the LGBT community, but also our entire Nation. As long as the promise of equality for all remains unfulfilled, all Americans are affected. If we can work together to advance the principles upon which our Nation was founded, every American will benefit. During LGBT Pride Month, I call upon the LGBT community, the Congress, and the American people to work together to promote equal rights for all, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, BARACK OBAMA, President of the United States of America, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim June 2009 as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Pride Month. I call upon the people of the United States to turn back discrimination and prejudice everywhere it exists.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand this first day of June, in the year of our Lord two thousand nine, and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and thirty-third.

BARACK OBAMA

....Don't you dare tell me that this Nation is taking a turn for the better...BECAUSE IT IS NOT! Look at this! I mean, REALLY look at it! "In the year of our Lord"?! Do you think that the Lord God of Heaven and Earth and RULER of the ENTIRE WORLD WOULD CONDONE THIS?! DO YOU! No. Absolutely NO:
1st Kings 22:46:
"The remnant of the sodomites who remained in the days of his father Asa, he expelled from the land."
Jude 1:7:
"just as Sodom and Gomorrah and the cities around them, since they in the same way as these indulged in GROSS IMMORALITY and went after STRANGE flesh, are exhibited as an example in undergoing the PUNISHMENT of ETERNAL FIRE."
(emphasis added)
Leviticus 18:22:
"You shall NOT lie with a male as with a female; it is an ABOMINATION."
(emphasis added)
Leviticus 20:13:
"If there is a man who lies with a male as those who lie with a woman, both of them have committed a DETESTABLE act; they shall surely be put to DEATH. Their bloodguiltiness is upon them."
(emphasis added)
Deuteronomy 23:17:
"None of the daughters of Israel shall be a cult prostitute, nor shall any of the sons of Israel be sodomites."
1st Kings 14:24:
"There were also sodomites in the land. They did according to all the ABOMINATIONS of the nations which the LORD CAST OUT from among the sons of Israel."
(emphasis added)
1st Corinthians 6:9:
"Or do you not know that the unrighteous will NOT inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor SODOMITES...(v10)...will inherit the kingdom of God."
(emphasis added)
Romans 1:24-32:
"Therefore God gave them over in the lusts of their hearts to IMPURITY, so that their bodies would be DISHONORED among them. For they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. For this reason God gave them over to DEGRADING passions; for their women exchanged the NATURAL function for that which is UNNATURAL, and in the same way also the men abandoned the NATURAL function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing ABOMINABLE acts and receiving in their own persons the due PENALTY of their error. And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a DEPRAVED mind, to do those things which are NOT proper, being filled with all unrighteousness, wickedness, greed, evil; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malice; they are gossips, slanderers, haters of God, insolent, arrogant, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, without understanding, untrustworthy, unloving, unmerciful; and although they KNOW the ordinance of God, that those who practice such things ARE WORTHY OF DEATH, they not only do the same, BUT ALSO GIVE HEARTY APPROVAL TO THOSE WHO PRACTICE THEM."
(emphasis added)
Hebrews 13:4:
"Marriage is to be held in honor among all, and the marriage bed is to be UNDEFILED; for FORNICATORS and adulterers GOD WILL JUDGE."
(emphasis added)
Proverbs 5:10-12:
"...and strangers will be filled with your strength and your hard-earned goods will go to the house of an alien; and you groan at your final end, when your flesh and your body are consumed; and you say, "HOW I HAVE HATED INSTRUCTION! AND MY HEART SPURNED REPROOF!"
..."He who has an ear, let him hear"...(Revelation 2:29.

I know that this is a ton to read...but IT PROVES MY POINT!!! And no one can say AT ALL that "it's from the Old Testament"...Take a look again.
WHERE has this Nation gone?! Where?! Not fifty years ago was sodomy a SHAME and DISGRACE!
Now look! Now we have a "
LESBIAN, GAY, BISEXUAL, AND TRANSGENDER PRIDE MONTH"!
And you know what...IT'S OUR FAULT! Yes! It's the Christian's fault! We have just sat by and gone our own merry ways...WHILE THIS PERVERSION WAS TAKING PLACE!!!
The time is QUICKLY approaching where it will be ILLEGAL to speak GOD'S WORD on our streets, and we WILL be persecuted for doing so. Our own PRESIDENT is at this VERY MOMENT working and scheming his vile way to do this...he says, "in the year of our Lord", he says, "God bless America"....he says. He doesn't mean. He has the blood of thousands...MILLIONS of innocent BABIES on HIS hands...the most HELPLESS of Americans are being SLAUGHTERED...MURDERED by the MINUTE.......friends......the blood is on the land, and it is screaming to God for vengeance. God is about to answer this cry; He IS answering this cry. WE ARE BEING JUDGED. God is about to purge the church. It is happening....are you ready? Are you ready to face persecution, imprisonment, and possibly death? ARE YOU READY? ....I know I'm not. We must turn our faces Heavenward and CRY OUT TO GOD to give us endurance in the times that are ahead. We are NOT going to get raptured out of here in some whirlwind of a storm just as the bad times come into play. No. WE WILL BE THERE. THIS generation is about to face something that we can't even begin to imagine. Prepare yourselves in ALL earnestness....know God's word....fight the GOOD fight.

So be it.

God help us.

Videos from Our Property

Hi!
I decided to do some videos of our property/house/animals/barn. Some of it is rather boring...but I'm gonna put it on here anyway. :D They are in different parts, and some of them are hard to hear. You will have to stop the music on my playlist and turn the volume up for some of them. In one, the wind is really blowing, and it's hard to hear anything else. Anyway, here they are. Let me know what you think! :)

Sculpting....

Hi friends!
I decided to do a quick post today; it's storming, and a good day for posting! :D At the Home School Conference, I bought some modeling clay. I LOVE modeling clay, and try to buy some every year. Anyway, I got a big chunk of it, and as soon as I got home, the next day, I made a "bust" of a horse-head. Here is the process of doing it:

It took a bit of work, but the end result was wonderful! I have officially named the model "Samurai": a horse of my imagination that is completely black...as you can tell. :)

Also, I have some VERY exciting news......

Are you ready for this?

Are you sure?

Are you sitting down? (Well, of COURSE you are....you're at the com
puter....)

If you are not sitting down, (which would be absolutely ridiculous, by the way,) is there a chair close by?

Are you absolutely....

Positively....

SURE that you're ready for this?

Alright, I'll stop annoying you now. :D
....WE'RE BREEDING BELLE NEXT WEEK!!!! YAAAAAYYYY!!!! *does a dance of joy*
I'm so happy I can't believe myself! It all happened rather...suddenly....last night at Bible Study. The man we bought Belle from came over with a young man that works at his stables, and while we were finishing up supper, he said out of the blue, "Oh, and if all goes well, I was planning on picking Belle up next week." I almost dropped my fork, staring across the table at him.
"You--you mean to breed her?" He smiled at the look on my face. "Yes. I was going to try and pick her up sometime around June the first, so that if all goes well, she'll hav
e the foal next May."
....YES YES YES YES YES!!!! I AM SOOOO HAPPY!!!!! My beautiful Liberty Belle is going to have a baby next May!!!! ....If all goes well....*gulp*....
If I can, I'm going to try and get a picture of the daddy, so you all can see him. I myself haven't seen him yet, but Stacey (the man we bought Belle from,) said that he is really "handsome". :D

Anyway, I do need to close here. Oh, if you all will...pray for me. My
cat Smokey bit me about thirty minutes ago. Not on purpose, I'm sure, but she did. It started raining really hard, and I went outside to get her. Well, she really doesn't like being picked up, but I had to to get her inside. She turned around and bit my hand right under the thumb. It's not too bad, I don't think, but it's kinda sore. Mom read that 80% of cat bites get infected.....joy.....it's not too deep, but, like I said, it's stinging and sore.

Oh well....life must go on. :D

ttyl everyone!

The Traveling North Carolinian......Has Returned!!!

I'm back....and boy did I have a GREAT time!

I have been gone for five days now, and every single one was packed full! We went to the Winston-Salem Home School Conference, and I bought several books, modeling clay, pencils and some "rock soap" they had there. (It smells really good! It looks like a colored rock, but is soap...as the name suggests.:)
It was SO much fun waiting outside the
doors to the book fair about fifteen minutes before they opened, and the tension was growing rapidly! :D The speeches were excellent. Norm Wakefield spoke on "Maintaining Your Child's Heart" and "Life with Amanda", their daughter with Downs syndrome. We went to listen to Jim Weiss, an excellent story teller. He was absolutely hilarious. We got to go swimming on several occasions for about two hours....with the pool ALL to ourselves. :) (There is a video at the bottom of the book fair.)
On Saturday evening, I and my par
ents left for another hotel in Wake Forest. For our first adventure there, we found that there was no hot water in the room we were in. Sooo....we had to go through a big ordeal with that, and, by the Lord's grace alone, there was an adjoining room that was empty. So, we got two rooms to make one big one. Oh, and the hot water did work in the second room. :D
Sunday morning, we all went to Scott Brown's
church. There were a ton of people, and since they already had the tent up that they use for Memorial Day, they had church under there. Once again, to my delight, I was able to talk to Liberty Phillips. She and two of her brothers, Joshua and Justice, had flown up earlier with some of the Vision Forum staff. We listened to some good teaching, and then afterward, went back to the hotel. The next morning, we went back over there for Memorial Day. There were a good four hundred--maybe more--people there. It was almost overwhelming. You can search my blog in the search box in the upper left hand corner for "Memorial Day at Scott Brown's Farm!" to see last year's post on this, and get some background into the history of the people that I'm going to speak of next.
William Henderson was there once again this year, and it was wonderful, if not a bit heartbreaking, to listen to him. Bill Brown, Scott Brown's father, was also a pleasure to listen to. Also there was Ezra Hill, a Tuskegee Airman. (Who also has the Congressional Gold Medal of Honor, by the way.:) He was also a pleasure to listen to, and at the closing of the event, he sung "I'm Proud to be an American". (I think that's what it's called!) It was wonderful. Mr Phillips also delivered a wonderful speech, and we all got to enjoy some blessed fellowship. Mrs Phillips, Providence, Honor and Virginia Hope were also there this year. I got to talk with Mrs Phillips a bit, and all I can say is that she is a wonderful woman.
Oh! And before I forget, I also had the honor of once
again meeting a very special man that I had the privilege of meeting last year: Mr. Henry "Pete" Sowell. He is a veteran and I like him very much.
Yesterday was one of the best days of my life, and I was sad when it was time to go. Many of the veterans signed my autograph book as well. I absolutely love going there each year, and being reminded of how we should honor our veterans all the time...not just on Memorial Day. God has blessed my family and I to be able to go for the past two years, and I pray that He will continue to do so.

Let us remember to honor our veterans every day, and thank the Lord for those who were willing to
die in OUR stead.

God bless America!

In Christ,
~Miss Rose

The Traveling North Carolinian......

Hi everyone!
I'm sorry for not having a very good post up in a while; it has been very....very....very....VERY busy lately. Anyway, tomorrow I and my family are leaving for Winston-Salem North Carolina for the Home School Conference down there. I am SO excited!!! Afterward, we'll be going to Wake Forest for Memorial Day at Scott Brown's farm. This will be our second year, and, once again, I'm very excited! I'll be gone for five days, and won't be able--more than likely--to publish comments and so on. But please still send them in! I'll probably be able to get on this evening and sometime tomorrow morning to post some and answer e-mails and so on. I'm going to TRY to set up an instant reply thingy, but then will reply to them in full when I get back. :) Please pray for traveling mercies, and I say adieu to all of my dear friends!!! <3

Lord willing, I'll "see" you all soon!

In Christ,
~The Traveling North Carolinian~

P.S. I've been on THAT road in the above picture! :D

Another Story in the Life of a Southern Farm Girl....

It all started out on your typical Wednesday afternoon. Things were going well, with the slight rush of Bible study that evening and guests arriving in the matter of an hour or so. It was a very nice afternoon; the sun was shining and the wind was blowing, mingled in with the song of birds and the lazy hum of the early crickets. It was time for Nathan and I to feed, so we went down to the garage and were putting on our muddy boots. All was going well. We went up to the pasture and began the normal feeding routine. Red was at the gate, Silkie and Belle were frolicking outside, the goats were being as stupid as ever, and Nathan was mucking out the stalls. I went into the tack room and began scooping out feed for them. All was going well. I took the bowls out from the tack room and gave the goats theirs, then went into Red's/Silkie's stall, and gave them their food. Nathan gave Belle's hers. All was going good. About five minutes passed, and everything was taking it's normal routine. We knew we had to hurry, because everyone for Bible study would be arriving soon, and mom would need help setting everything up. They were about half way done, and I had my back to Red's and Silkie's stall, talking to Nathan.
...THUMP!....
I turned around to see what had happened, and Red
had backed into Silkie, kicking her in the stomach. She didn't really mind because it wasn't a very hard blow, so she continued eating. Sometimes, Red will do this. So I went over to him and pushed his rear end out of the way. "Get over, Red!" He moved, but then just stood there...which is NOT like him. He did not continue eating, but just...stood. Suddenly, his ears went back and his muscles tightened as he jerked his head high and started this awful wheezing noise....all was not going good. I figured what was happening: Red was choking. This had happened before on Bible study night. I yelled to Nathan to run as fast as he could back down to the house and get mom to call the vet. Meanwhile, I tried to keep the horses calm. Yeah, right. Red backed into Silkie, and from sheer panic of not being able to breathe, he pinned her against the wall and began to kick fiercely. I wasn't about to go in there, and Silkie bolted out and into Belle's stall, and in exchange kicked her out. Red stood there in the stall, jerking and coughing. When a horse coughs, their so big that it sounds like a huge rumble/wheeze sort of noise. It's really strange. I suddenly remembered that the last time he choked, the vet had told us to walk him until they could get there. I ran into the tack room and grabbed the nearest halter and lead line, and then ran back out. I cautiously approached my dear horse, who was now just standing there, head low and trying to breathe. I put the halter on and clipped the lead line onto it, gently tugging on it to get him to walk. Mom called the vet, and it would be about thirty minutes before they arrived. By now, dark, ash-gray clouds had formed and the wind had gotten cooler, picking up. I walked my poor baby for thirty minutes, not caring at the disgusting green fluid that poured out of his mouth and nostrils and got all over my arms, hands and jeans. After a while, he began to spit up blood with that. The lead line that I grasped in my hand was covered in the sticky, slimy stuff, but I didn't care. All I cared about was keeping my horse walking. I told dad that it's absolutely amazing how, if one of your animals is hurt, you don't care ONE BIT if you get COVERED in nasty stuff. I kept a rag in my pocket, wiping his mouth and nose at various intervals. He had a hard time breathing, and it came labored. He would stiffen up and let out huge coughs with a ton of greenish fluid, and would stumbled at times. I would stop and let him rest, petting his head and neck, and talking to him. I'd stop and kiss his head, just encase it may be the last time I do so. I walked and walked and walked, and finally, dad came up from preparing Bible study and said that he'd stay up there until the vet came. I kissed Red on the head one last time before heading down to the house, and then went my way.

Thankfully, he was alright. I checked on him several times during the evening, and one last time just as darkness was settling over the mountains. My baby is okay, and I'm very happy that he is. *glances at clock* in fact, it's about time for me to go feed! :)

Anyway, I just thought I'd post another story in the life of a Southern farm girl. :) I'm sorry if it was disgusting...but that's the way it goes! :D Here's some pictures in tribute to my dear horse Red.

I LOVE MY HORSE!!!

Enjoy!

In Christ,
~Miss Rose a.k.a. the Southern Farm Girl :)
