A Random Post

Hi eberyone...
I'mb sick!
Alright, enough of that! (but I am sick....:)
Well, it's snowing right now; in the mid/low 20s I suppose. A cold day worthy of hot chocolate, a fleece blanket, blazing fire, soft, cozy music and Christmas tree.
Speaking of which; we went to get our Christmas tree today. We usually get it the day after Thanksgiving, but since we were at my Grandma's...it didn't work out.
We went out this morning for breakfast, and I took a few pictures there:

This is an 'experimental' one; the camera i
s focused on the glass, but my little sister is in the background. I like it. :)

Here is my dad,

Oh, and on the way back from getting the tree, Nate and I r
ode in the back! That was fun...and COLD!

Okay, now for some random pictures; here is an opossum that showed up on our back deck last night. It found the cat food....

This is a picture of one of my favorite drawings. I had this book when I was a little girl. It's called "Songs from Dreamland"; it comes with a tape and this book. The song that goes with the picture is called "Mommy is Tired Tonight"....but....I like it....;)

Here is the mountain in front of our house, it's called Bullhead. T
his was taken sometime last week, when there was frost on the trees.

The best for last:
This is Lillian. She and her family came for a visit last Thursday, and
Lillian was 'marrying' my big Breyer horses. It was cute!

Well, what can I say? It's a random...VERY random post!

Thanks for reading it.

~Rose

P.S. Do not forget the Story Contest! It ends December 21 at midnight.

Okay...This Was Just TOO Funny to Pass Up!

Hello everyone,

After you read this post, you'll probably think that I'm the weirdest person in the world; but casting that fact aside, here it is anyway. ;)
I found this off of Jeremy's blog...Hope you don't mind me using it???

Oh well...all I can say is, that if you're not a Star War's fan and like John William music...You'll never get it! :D

Various Things-

Hello everyone,
First of all, I'd like to thank all of you for the nice comments about Tucker; I do hope as well that he will come back. (But so far, we haven't seen anything of him.)

Okay, this post is going to be three in one...so...it may be sort of lengthy! :P :D

Well, I've been tagged...I'll have to deal with it. (to everyone that has tagged me in the past: Sorry-it's been rather busy, and I just had found time when Fox tagged me.:()

Of Long Trips, Parades, First Snows and Missing Cats.

Hello everyone,
I'm sorry that I haven't answered any comments for a while; we've been gone to GA for five days
for Thanksgiving and my Grandma's 75th Birthday.

Here are some pictures of the party:

We got back yesterday and chilled out for a while, but today we're having ANOTHER Thanksgiving meal! *sighs and wipes forehead* We have been VERY busy!
We also just got back from the Christmas parade downtown, it was fun. We saw a good friend there too:

Here is a picture of our first good snow that we've had; we had it a couple of weeks ago. (Silkie enjoyed running around in it!:)

Before I go, I would like you to pray for Tucker: He went missing while we were down in GA. Dad was still here, but when he went to feed him, he wasn't there. It's been about three days, and still no sign of him. We don't know if he went back to his previous home
(if he had one,) or if he tried coming down to our house and our neighbor's dogs got him. So, anyway, just please pray that he will come back; I MISS HIM!!!

Thanks.
In Christ,
~Rose

Tucker!!!!

Hello,
Well, we've decided on a name for the kitten: Tucker!
(Actually, my dad named him:)
He's very sweet and playful. So far, he's doing pretty well up in the loft; Nate and I put a box up there on it's side and put a large blanket in it, then stuffed the whole thing with hey...so he should be pretty warm! ;)
This morning, after we had fed the horses, I went around the shed and heard this 'meow'. I looked up, and Tucker was on the roof of the barn! We got him down, but about 30 minutes later, I looked out my window and he had slid down the roof and into the gutter....soooooo, we had to go and get him down from that!
(So far, he hasn't attempted to do that again---yet.:)

Well, that's about it; remember the Story Contest! I already have received a good entry by a friend, so if you have one mocked up already, go ahead and send it in!

In Christ,
~Rose

A Name for My New Kitty????

Hello everyone,
Meet my new cat!
He showed up this morning out of the blue, it was cold, and he was shivering, and we were feeling sorry for him and so on...(you know how it works:)
Well, he's living up at the barn right now, but we can't figure out a name for him! He's got big gold eyes, and is about six months old. He's tota
lly black (as you can see), and is very playful.
We were considering 'Riley' or 'Smudge', those are alright, but not our favorite. Any suggestions?

Winners of the 2008 Photo Taking Contest:
We are working on the prizes...don't think that we've forgotten you! :)
We'll try and have them out by Christmas.

The Story Writing Contest is off to a good start; Keep it up!

"Never Leave Your Partner Behind."

Fireproof--The best movie in the world!
We went to see it this afternoon down in Elkin! I really don't know what to say about it; it made my laugh, cry, whimper, cringe...It was just SO good! Sad, romantic, happy, action---that's Fireproof in a nutshell!
If you haven't seen that movie...Get out and see it! NOW!!!
*now I know why everyone was going crazy over it!*
Here's the trailer:

This is great...I can say that 10+ more! Please watch it if you haven't!

The Simple Woman's Day Book

For Today: November 13th, 2008
Outside my window: Cold, cloudy and rainy.
I am thinking: That I could get hold of a certain person at the moment....;)
I am thankful for: My warm, dry house.
From the kitchen: Water fountain, Classical music. (Am home alone.)
I am wearing: Dark red skirt with blue shirt.
I am reading: Stepping Heavenward and my Bible.
I am hoping: That I can stop thinking about something. :P :D
I am hearing: My keyboard, computer vent, opera and my sister watching TV.
Around the house: Sort of clean, but a little messy.
One of my favorite things: My Purity Locket from Vision Forum.
I accomplished since last week: Trying to be nice to my little sister! :P :)
A few plans for the rest of the week: Nothing really. Maybe going to see Fireproof on Saturday.
Here is something special that I'm sharing with you: (I am proud to own this.)

"This one small piece of jewelry has for centuries been the symbol of a special relationship between two people. Carefully guarding the treasured faces that we desire to keep closest to us, it often remains a prized possession throughout a lifetime, passed on to future generations as a special family heirloom.

After much searching, Vision Forum is pleased to offer a locket worthy of such lofty history and promise. Beautifully embossed with a floral design, this 1/2" sterling silver locket is the perfect gift for those special young ladies in your family.

It is an especially fitting gift on a special occasion, as a loving gift between a father and daughter to symbolize the importance of purity and remaining as a joyful daughter under her father’s protection until the time of release to her future husband."

Costume Ball!!!

Hi everyone,
Sorry about not putting up a good sized post in a while, it's been kind of busy around here;
Our goat Charlie, as you probably already know, had had something similar to kidney stones. We took him to the vet, and they fixed the problem, so now he's doing fine...back to gorging down food and bulling Chester around. :)
Okay, well, as the title suggests, we (my mom, Nate, Bekah and I) went to a costume ball down in Tazwell, VA. It was TONS of fun!!!
The ball lasted from 3:00 PM till 9:00 PM. We did Reels and Square Dancing.
Here are some pictures:

Chris and I doing a square dance,

Jeffery and I go under the head couples on the Virginia
Reel,

Josh and I wait for the music to start,

Chris and Lillian take a brake

My brother, his partner and Jeffery trying to figure o
ut what on earth they're supposed to be doing,

Chuck and I,

I get stolen away from Josh...literally! :)

(We got mixed up and I ended up with another young man across from us!:)

We had a GREAT time...me want's to do it again! :D
In Christ,
~Rose

P.S. The "blackness" around some of the pictures is to cover the blurred areas...not to emphasize on two couples....if you know what I mean....so DO NOT take it that way! :P :)
