The Lightly Trodden Path

There before us lies a narrow, weed covered path; the shrubs and bushes have long covered its dusty, rocky trail, and the small path is barely seen from the main road, which is wide and clear, and nothing is in its way. Here every young woman stops, trying to decide if she wants to take such a treacherous path, or continue on the flat, smooth one that she now follows.
"What can be more beautiful than the budding and blossoming of girlhood? Those years of transition from childhood to womanhood are filled with wonderful interest and promise. But the young feet that travel this way may be unsteady and unsure. Each could
use guidance, a helping hand along the way..."
This is a quote from the back of 'Beautiful Girlhood' by Karen Andreola.
Yes, the briers will scratch us and the branches will grab at us, the ground is rough and hilly, but still, this path must be taken. It will, over time, lead us to beautiful girlhood, and in the end, it will lead us to beautiful womanhood. God will keep our feet from slipping, and will "put a lamp to our feet and a light to our path..." so that we may see and not fall.
The grim forest that lays before us, the dangers that may possibly lie ahead, is nothing but a veil that hides the beauty that we shall encounter in the end.
I know that many of us are already on this path; and some of us may just be ready to take it, but no matter the situation, you can always push harder, and strive to reach the end of a long journey to beautiful womanhood. We all have a long way to go, and before us, sprawled out on the path, laid on the trees, are a multitude of of decisions that must be made: every day things, like obeying our parents, the decision to help our mothers, things like this are just as important as the things that we will come up in the future; not just for us, but for every young lady in the making. Many of the young women out there have either disregarded this path, and gone their way on the smooth one, or have taken this path, and have come to a deadly end.
All along this narrow way are roads that will take you off of it, and back to the main one, and many young women have done this. They have taken the 'easy' way, and left the trail that would save them from a terrible end. They have chosen the way of the world, and have given away their virginity for a moments pleasure, dishonored their parents, and done so many other things that most probably will lead up to horrible happenings.
One of the most terrible things that any young woman has done is to MURDER her child. Today is the 36th anniversary of Roe vs. Wade--and since that curse from God, an estimated 50 million babies have been murdered.

(Psalms 106:36-40, KJV)

36. And they served their idols: which were a snare unto them.
37. Yea, they sacrificed their sons and their daughters unto devils,
38. And shed innocent blood, even the blood of their sons and of their
daughters, whom they sacrificed unto the idols of Canaan: and the land was
polluted with blood.
39. Thus were they defiled with their own works, and went a whoring with their
own inventions.
40. Therefore was the wrath of the Lord kindled against his people, insomuch
that he abhorred his own inheritance.

The blood of these 50 million babies cry out to God from the land, and our hands are covered in it.
Here is a wonderful article done by a woman who has a website called "Slice of Laodicea." There is one photo on her post that young ones should NOT see, so please use caution. Other than that, I strongly encourage you to read this post.
On the 36 anniversary of Roe vs. Wade, let us bow down and cry out to God to have mercy on His chosen people in His wrath to come, and let us, as young women and sisters in Christ, not follow the wide and smooth path.

In Christ,
~Rose
