Friday Night Dance

Last night we went to a dance in Bluefield, VA. It was lots of fun, but I'm exhausted this morning. I worked four hours at the cafe yesterday and only sat down one time; it was very busy and chaotically fun. I'm enjoying work a LOT. Its busy, fast, and I burned my thumb. (As a friend put it, "Hey, it had to happen sometime.") I got off work at 4:04 pm, rushed home, changed, and then left. From 6:15 until 10:09, I danced all dances except for three. Twas a lot of fun, though my feet disagree strongly. I had another friend ask me what the highlight of my evening was. At the time I couldn't think of anything, but I have now. My highlight was dancing with a little gentleman named Owen. He barely reaches my stomach, and has a cute smile, and I had the honour of dancing with him. There's pictures below.

Anyway, here's some of the pictures from the dance. Big thanks to my mom for taking them. :)

Breath of Autumn

The writer woke up this morning in the darkness of her room. She didn't want to crawl out of bed; it was far too warm and the air was far too cold outside of the covers. But she did, pulling on her hoodie and walking to the window. The world outside was frosted over and the window was blurred with a foggy blanket.
She felt for the camera on her desk and took hold of it, and walked outside into the icy air; the first breaths of Autumn and cold winter had settled while she slept.
Last night, she had sat by the fireplace, shadows dancing around the room, thoughts wandering. She was quiet, she thought for a long time about a lot of things, and this morning, she was grateful to pause and photograph this tiny gift that God had given her.
Sometimes, when the world blurs by, it's good to stop and breathe.
     Just breathe.
