Of Rainy Days and Sketches

I love the rain. The rain is a beautiful thing. It reminds us that He brings it in due season.
As it rained yesterday, pattering against the corner of the house where I could hear it well, I sat at my desk, lamp glowing, sketching away. Drawing is an amazing art. I love it so much. It's a wonderful way to express your feelings. I'm the type that enjoys looking at pictures to draw them - that's one of my favorite things to do.

It's cloudy now, and I wish it would just pour!

Fighting!

Hey, Ruby!
Yes, I did draw that. I often look at pictures of people to draw them. All I used for this were a mechanical pencil and a "tortillion", which is the thing you see in the photo. It's basically a paper stub that blends everything together. After I drew the picture and blended it, I took my eraser and added the highlights to hair, eyes and jacket. I'm so glad you like it! I'll have to send you some pictures of my other drawings. :)

Oh, and as to reply to your horse riding question...(sorry - can you tell I like to talk about drawing!)
I do love to ride, but our horses aren't that great. Silkie, my 7 year old Halflinger, really never was trained. I mean, you can ride her, but it's not very fun. Belle, my 7 year old American Paint, is ridable, but she spooks real easy and needs a lot of work; and then Max, well, he's only a year old, so, not ridable yet. :) I like riding Western.

Now to the horses :)
What! You have a Halflinger horse?! You know they r bringing big money over here for dressage mount's and are really smart little horses! Your paint mare look's sweet ;) And that little yearling, well he is super cute!! You really have to get him broke real well and train him up once he's older! =D Train him to be a jumper!! LOL!
Cool, so you like western riding! I've never done any of that. (My family r all in to the english riding and race horses.) It would b cool though! Not shore my horse would like it though, she would scoot of on me if I had a loose rein! LOL! I will tell you all about her in my letter if you like!! :)
