A Year Ago Today

Exactly one year ago today, Lemon died in his sleep on the 13th of October. I still miss our dear boy... he was such a sweet, loving cat, and fought until the end.
You can read his post here, and watch the video tribute my wonderful friend Caroline did for him here.

We've missed him dearly over the past 365 days, and it's really hard to believe that it truly has been a whole year.
This post is programmed to launch this morning, as I wrote it last night. This time last year, we were crying, and tending to a sad moment.

Yes, they're just animals... but sometimes, they're the best friends you've got. Love your pets while you can.
My 11 year old cat, Sheba, was our first, and she showed up only a year after we'd moved here. She's still alive and well, and still, after 10 years, sleeps at my side every night. I often slip into sleep, stroking her back, saying a prayer and thanking Him that she's still there for me to snuggle with. It will be horrible when she goes - enjoy your pets while you can.
God created domestic animals for our love and care, and they return our love. Lemon was the most loving cat we've had; honestly. You could tell that he appreciated his surroundings.
He showed up at our house nearly dead because something had attacked him, and dad was going to take him to the vet so they could put him down. In dad's words, "he talked to me all the way over." Needless to say, he couldn't have the cat put down. We spent so much on him, and he rewarded us for the next several years with much love.

We miss you, Lemon.

Love your pets - they've been given to us by a Father who loves them, and wants them to have good homes.

Oh, how I still miss Lemon! He was the most affectionate cat I've ever had. And I believe that he loved us just as much as we loved him. Thank you for the post my dear daughter!
