Here, and No Further

And I placed boundaries on it and set a bolt on its doors, and I said, “Here is where you come, and here is where your proud waves stop.””
Job 38:10-11

I really like this verse. You think of the sea and it is might. It's scary to stand at the shore and watch the waves. Yet, God sets boundaries for this massive body of water. Most things in our lives should have limits and boundaries. When we don't have boundaries destruction and misery abound- just like when the ocean gets out of it's boundaries.
I also like this verse, "All the rivers run into the sea, Yet the sea is not full."-Ecclesiastes 1:7
From a scientific point of view, it is amazing the wisdom, given by God, to the writer of this book. Before we even knew about the water cycle, the Bible tells us this truth. Also, it convicts me of my greed. Sometimes I'm like that sea, no matter how many blessings I have I'm not satisfied.

It's one of my absolute favorite verses. Caroline and I were talking about the fact that we worry for people, and especially me, how I'm afraid for them so often, and she reminded me of this verse. It's like our sins; He's set a mark to where they'll go, and they won't go any further.

Thank you for the comment!
