Family Bible Conference 2012

I didn't go to bed last night until 3:00 AM. 0_0 But I'm glad I didn't go earlier, because last night was absolutely *amazing*.
Once again, we went to the Reformed Family Bible Conference in Virginia, and I got to spend time with friends that I haven't seen in quite a while. And, once again, we took pictures outside after the dance like we do every single year. (It's becoming a tradition!)
The lecture we went to was excellent, and being there again after 365 days felt wonderful. I got to become a little closer with people I know, and that felt even better. And again, the pictures can tell you the story far better than I can, so I'll post them for you. My friends are *amazing* - absolutely wonderful. I love them all so much that I can't really tell them just how much. My dad wasn't able to come this year, so I missed him; I think he would have had a good time. My mom took most of these pictures (that's why some are blurry, lol >.<), and my brother and sister had fun, too.
Nathan and I talked for a long time last night after we got home at 2:07. After downing a glass of milk, I went into his room and we sat on the bed talking for a bit with the lights off, re accounting the days events, talking about who we danced with, etc.
I can't even begin to tell you how fun it was. It was... yeah. FANTASTIC. That's the only existing word to describe it.

So, without further ado, I'll begin my pictures, and tell the stories behind them as I go.

This year's FBC was one of the best!

P.S. Could you please keep my dad in your prayers? He's struggling with his work situation right now... please remember him.

Playing Pool
(Christian (in black shirt) had to give me lessons... I've never played pool before. ^_^)

My amazing friend Rebecca! She's so fun to hang out with!

We went on a walk outside the campus later that afternoon in the woods; the trail was very pretty. Christian's dad was telling us stories that made us laugh as we made our way up the steep hill.

After hiking, we went to a park close by and they goofed off for a while; I mostly took pictures. I'd post the others, but I'm not sure if Christian would want his epic fail on my blog... he fell out of the swing. >:)

Ultimate Frisbee! WOOT!

William playing ping pong.

The Lunchtime Surgery...

During Christian's epic fail at the playground, he got a splinter embedded in his hand. DEEP. He showed it to us at lunch, so a couple of other guys started trying to get it out - using their knives. >.< BIG knives. No one had tweezers, and it was a while before we got hold of a needle to work it out with. It actually was deeper than in the picture below... I think the guy on the left (can't remember his name!) was enjoying himself. XD

... as you can see. 0_0

 The Dance

After the lecture, some of us changed and went down to the basket ball court where the dance is held. The music was loud, we got hot and sweaty, but it was really fun. (I'm in the blue dress, by the way.)  I danced every single one except for the first, from about 9:15 until 12:05 AM. Needless to say... I'm sore. :S

Nathan and Ariel (he's in the purple shirt.)

My little sister, Rebekah, and Christian

Trying to figure out what I'm doing!

Postie's Jig (EEK!)

 Dancing with Colton

 Nathan and Stephanie

 Me and my bro ^_^

 Christopher and myself

This would have been the BEST. PICTURE. ... but it's blurry. --.--

After the Dance

Every year, after the dance, we go out to take pictures outside the building; here's our collection from this year - we're like an adopted family or something!

Behold. The guys posing like Calvin Klein models. >.<

I look really weird in this one. Sorry. :P

 Left to Right:
I believe her name is Rachelle, then William, myself and Jase

Of course, Nathan couldn't miss his chance to give us his Calvin Klein pose...

And, when it was all said and done, we ended this year's conference with sweaty hugs, laughs, and a leap in the air. I'm already looking forward to next year's, and hope to become even closer with my amazing friends. It really was fantastic. We parted ways, the cool nighttime air feeling wonderful, street lights above lighting the way at 12:30 in the morning. These are some of my best, most precious memories, and they are the most important.

Hannah, Have you heard of Black Caviar? The race horse that is :) She is from Australia and has never bean beaten in her life! She was flown over to England for the Royal Ascot races and she won for the 22nd time over there!! She is like the most amazing horse ever so I made a video in honour of her last night before the race (please watch!!!!), http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=swSFV0cMXrY&feature=plcp

Here is a link to the real race last night, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L5464q326fY&feature=plcp

It looks like you all had a great time. :] I loved all the pictures, I'm just curious about the ones of the dance. Why are all the girls barefoot? Is it a local custom or something?
I'll be praying for your dad. I hope everything works out for him soon!
God Bless

Wow, Nelly! That's awesome! I really liked the video! That horse *is* amazing!

Autumn -
Haha! No, it's not a custom; we took off our shoes because it was uncomfortable in our heels, and also because it would mark up the court. ^_^ That's the only reason why. Thanks so much for the comment!

Hi Hannah,

I don't think we officially got introduced at conference but I did get introduced to your brother Nathan by Pastor Black. I enjoyed the pictures you took...thanks for letting me jump in some of them! It was such a blast and such a happy time. And by the way, my name is Rachelle...up above you have it as Michelle...which it's easy to get confused about...just thought you'd want to know in case we run into each other next year!

Rachelle! I'm so sorry I got your name wrong! No, we didn't officially meet; Nathan had mentioned that he had met you, so I was asking him about your name, and that's what he gave me. I'll fix it. ^_^ (A lot of people actually call me Leigh or Anna - Leigh is my middle name. ^_^)
So good to hear from you! I'm glad you let me know; thanks! Hope to see you next year!

These pictures are awesome!!! It looked like so much fun, as I already expressed before...

The picture of Christian on the swing could easily pass for a shot from a clothing magazine; the lighting, angle, timing, all is perfect and it's hard to believe this was candid (it was, wasn't it? you never know with Christian! hahaha ;) ).

I *still* say you should be a pro photographer. You see all the angles and lighting that I just totally CAN'T. XD

Hey Hannah,
No problem! It's easy to get my name confused when one hears it in a room full of the buzz of people! I am guessing you aren't on Facebook? By the way, would you be willing to share your photos from conference with Jefferey French? Every year he compiles photos to share with everyone and it's awesome to see them all! If you would like, you can email him at notunforgotten@gmail.com and send him your photos or ask questions, etc. I look forward to seeing you again next year Lord willing!

Argentia -
LOL, yes, it was candid. (As far as I know ;) I like that one, too. Maybe I'll submit it or something. ^_^ (He'd actually probably kill me if I did that. >.<)
Thanks! Maybe I will. =D

Rachelle -
I know, right? Confusing.
Sure! I'll probably do that if I get the chance; I saw some of them already. Did he take pictures at the actual dance Friday night? I didn't see any of those up.

Have a good day!
