did you know that nuts play a very important role in everyday nutrition? they're an awesome source of protein, and despite the popular belief that nuts are fattening, a handful of almonds or walnuts each day can actually help you to burn calories. they way our bodies process proteins and carbohydrates are very different, and if the first thing you eat for the day is packed with carbs, you automatically set your body in swing for storing fat during the day; if however, the first thing you eat is protein, the stage is set for burning calories and gives you more energy. so instead of eating a bagel or toast in the morning, try a handful of almonds or make a trail mix of sorts; it really does give you an energy boost.
