Scripture For Thought

Hello girls (and guys)
I usually do not post on Sunday, because it is the Lord's Sabbath and it is to remain holy;
but, I have permission from my father to do this post because it has to do with the Bible and God's word.
I heard this chapter off of a CD that we listened to on the way to church today.
This verse is frightening, to say the least, and is something to think heavily on.
Quoting from Isaiah chapter 3 verses one through 12:

"For behold, the Lord God of
hosts is going to remove
from Jerusalem and Judah
both supply and support, the
whole supply of bread
and the whole supply of
water;
The mighty man and the
warrior,
the judge and the prophet,
the diviner and the elder,
the captain of fifty and the
honorable man,
the counselor and the expert
artisan,
and the skillful enchanter.
And I will make mere lads
their princes,
and capricious children will
rule over them,
and the people will be
oppressed,
each one by another, and
each one by his neighbor;
the youth will storm against
the elder
and the inferior against the
honorable.
When a man lays hold of his
brother in his father's
house, saying,
'You have a cloak, you shall
be our ruler,
and these ruins will be
under you charge,'
He will protest on that day,
saying,
'I will not be your healer,
for in my house there is
neither bread nor cloak;
you should not appoint me
ruler of the people.'
For Jerusalem has stumbled
and Judah has fallen,
because their speech and
their actions are against the
Lord,
to rebel against His glorious
presence.
The expression on their faces
bears witness against them,
and they display their sin
like Sodom;
they do not even conceal it.
Woe to them!
For they have brought evil
on themselves.
Say to the righteous that it
will go well with them,
for they will eat the fruit of
their actions.
Woe to the wicked! It will go
badly with him,
for what he deserves will be
done to him.
O My people! Their
oppressors are children,
and women rule over them.
O My people! Those who
guide you lead you astray
and confuse the direction of your paths
..."

And it goes on.
This chapter means a lot, but the part that really jumped out at me was "Their oppressors are children and women rule over them"; how plain does it get? This goes SO well with today's world! How many children are being disrespectful to their parents and telling them what to do? And Hillary Clinton, along with Sarah Palin and all of the other women who are in authority over states and cities, schools, governors and so on? The place of the women is in the home, where God ordained it to be.
Please think on this, give it thought and pray to God that he would deliver us!

I admit it is sad that Sarah Palin is up there:(don't you think She is a little like Debora though???I'm saying come on she is the best one up there.Those men should be ashamed that Sarah Palin(a women )is the one making most of the right choices!And in my opinion I think our country needs to be knocked down a couple notches,we have become so sinful and blind!Do you think God could be doing something through Sarah Palin,like he did through Debora?
Thanks so much for doing this!! it is important that we study Gods word and pray allot on this subject,asking God to show us his will!!
Thanks again
Savannah
PS I hope I didn't sound offensive:(

That is a very good post Hannah.
It really does describe what our nation is like now. The nation as whole has turned on the Lord our God and think that they can throw off his rule, and we see how God has already started to judge this nation, for women our in places of ruling were they should not be. Thank you for doing this post, it is very thought provoking.

Savannah-
Thank you for your question, I'm glad you asked;
Deborah was not elected by the people, but was appointed by God, and God's people were under severe judgment at this time.
By her own admission, her position was a shameful thing.
She did not lead the armies of Israel, but they were led by Barak. (Not O'Bama!:)
Her role by the historical account is unclear, except that she was a prophetess and the people came to her for judgment.

Civil Magistrates:
The qualifications for elected officials are laid out in Exodus and other places:
"Moreover thou shalt provide out of all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness; and place such over them, to be rulers of thousands, and rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens:
(Exodus 18:21, KJV)

Instructional versus Historical:
The clear instructional and doctrinal portions of Scripture are always used as the rule and guide; not the historical when in opposition to the instructional.

Sarah Palin:
1.She is actively pursuing a career in politics; she is not appointed by God as in the extraordinary case of Deborah.
2.She has violated several Biblical commands in the pursuit of her career including:

"The aged women likewise, that they be in behavior as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;
That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, to be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to the own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.
(Titus 2:3-5, KJV)

3.She is at present ruling over her own husband as Governor of Alaska, once again violating Scripture.
4.She has made numerous statements revealing that her Christian morals lack much to be desired as 1) she openly supports sodomy as a personal choice people must make; 2) she fully supports the teaching of evolution in public schools as science; 3) she is not a constitutionalist and therefore plugs right into the same political mold that the Democrats and the Republicans adhere to; that is, unconstitutional, big, federal government.

Both Parties:
1.Neither party has Biblically qualified candidates.
2.It is the duty of Christians to only vote for Biblically qualified candidates.

I hope that this answers your question, if it doesn't, please e-mail me and we will talk some more on this matter.

Thank you! :)

I agree with Hannah, no christen should vote for McCain just to hope that he dies and Palin becomes president because you are still voting for evil even if it was ok for Palin to be running but it is even more wrong because Palin should not be running and should not put herself over men and therefor against God's decreed order.

Not to mention Deborah's story is not written in the bible as a example of how to live but it is a part of history Pastor Morecraft Said it was history and that we are not to take the historical parts of the bible and interpret the commandments by them instead it is to be the other way around and the bible says not to let women rule over men. All because the story of Deborah is in the bible does not give women the excuse to defigh God and his commandments to go and seek power for themselves leave their family's and places themselves above men like good little Marxist.

Deborah ruled with her husband Sarah Palin would be ruling over her husband and already has and is. Sarah Palin should not be going for the VP, if she followed her God given role she would have been a helpmate to her husband and done all she could to help HIM to become governor and run for the VP NOT herself. Also as Hannah pointed out Deborah was not elected by the people she was appointed by God as judgment on the men of Israel because they were to week to rule themselves now even if Deborah was a example to follow and it was right to vote for Palin it means that every man voting for her is saying that he is weaker then a woman and that she can rule better then him.

I must also once more stress the fact that nobody will be voting for Palin even if that is their intention, who they are really voting for is McCain and even if he wins and everyone gets what they want of Palin being VP, So what? She is not the president McCain is, the VP does not have that much power to change things so even if she believes in this or that what is she going to do? The excuse to get around this though is that McCain will die in the next year or so and then Palin will be the president; How does anyone know that he will die in the next year or so? Nobody knows that! So you can NOT vote for McCain and just hope that he will die and Sarah Palin will become the president.

I shall end here saying that I would like anyone who reads this to go to sermon audio(or my family's blog) and find the sermon that Pastor Morecraft did on this topic because once hearing it no christen can still think it right to vote for Palin. (truly McCain)

Oh and one more thing the bible many times records that the prophets of God went and killed the prophets of bale and God was very pleased when they did this, does that mean that I should go to the Hindu temple just down 77 and kill all there priest? NO I should not that is not my place to go and do that, but it was right for the prophets why not for me? because the prophets were appointed by God and it was there place to purge the land from their evil, likewise Deborah was appointed by God in this instance to be a judgment on Israel that does not mean that Sarah Palin can just go and step out of her place a try to put herself over men.

Hey Hannah,
Thanks so much for your thoughts.I agree with you on some of those points,but not all of them.But I will not go into them right now(since it would probably become a long discussion:).I might email you with some other thought,if I feel led.Thank you for being open and willing to discuss this subject!I will be studying the the bible(especially Debora:)on this.And praying that God would,with who ever is elected,work in them for the good of our country!Thanks again and feel free to email me too(I think you already have my email).

Oh, let the evil of the wicked come to an end,and may you establish the righteous—
you who test the minds and hearts,
O righteous God!
Psalms 7:9

Therefore let us not judge one another anymore, but rather determine this-not to put an obstacle or a stumbling block in a brother's way.

I fell absolutely the same way as Rose and Rebecca do. Thank you so much for making my point clearer. And another thing to add to Mrs. Palin's record: I'm sure that you've heard that her oldest daughter is expecting a child out of wedlock; and so I ask you: why would I vote for Mcain (a.k.a. Palin) based on her beliefs when I can see plainly that she hasn't cared enough to pass them on to her children, nor her husband care enough to do the same! I can't understand how people who call themselves christians can support her simply because she's a "Christian" and anti-abortion, but leave out all other factors that a godly and upright christian woman/wife/mother is supposed to follow. The bible says that "you shall know them by their fruit" (please don't think badly of me when I tell you that I can't remember where in the New Testament that is!), and I think it's very important for this coming election especially that we study candidates "Fruit" very carfuly, and with biblical standards in mind. I have to say that when I first heard Sarah palin was in the VP running, I kind of thought that it would be OK, afeter all, she WAS a christian, and she didn't believe in abortion, and she was trying to combat the energy crises, and after all, didn't God have a woman judge the Iraelites in the Old Testament? But when I began to really think about it more, and read about Sarah Palin, and hold her up to biblical standards of womanhood, I found that she was sadly lacking. Perhaps, as God used Deborah to judge the weak men of the Old Testament, He will use Sarah Palin to judge the weak men of America today. I still don't agree with her worldview (or John Mcain's), and I don't believe that it would be right or correct for her to be VP or President, but who knows the mind and plans of The Most Holy God? Thanks for the post Rose, I love discussions and debates like this. I wish I could meet you all face to face so we could talk more easily about this.

You are very right, our God may just do something good through Sarah Palin, like you said, we know not the mind of our Lord; but the way things are looking now, I believe that she will be used AS a judgment on this nation. Like the verse says:
"Children are their oppressors and women rule over them", women ruling over a nation or in ANY place of authority outside the home is a judgment and a curse.
Also, on the subject of looking at the fruit of a candidate for election, this is VERY important, but, the candidates that are up there now show no good fruits in VERY serious matters!

I agree, but here's "fruit" for thought: any one of us girls could be the wife of the next truly Godly President. Amazingly sobering thought. What a responsibility and opportunity to be a Dolly Madison!

And you are right about Sarah Palin being a judgment; I'm just glad it's not Hillary Clinton being a curse. You know, I look at these women and their lives as they're living them now and I go, Where did they go wrong? At what point in their lives did they make the (unconcious, we hope) descision to cast off the "restrictiveness" of womenhood, and set themselves up to be like men? And what can I learn from their mistakes? It's what living out history is all about I guess. Recognizing and knowing the times and not waiting until tomorrow to learn from the mistakes of today.

Hi Rose of Sharon,
(I just LOVE that name!)
I agree, I am glad that it's not Hillary, but we must understand that BOTH women have ABANDONED their TRUE kingdom at HOME and families to run in a mans place!
When you think about it, I mean really think, it's sickening.

Thank you all for the wonderful comments, I enjoy talking and discussing with others girls! :)
