Overcome By David Nevue

Well, I was a bit surprised that I didn't get many comments on "Requiem for a Dream."
Personally, I really like that song, but, then again, I'm not every body.
Okay, now, this song is called "Overcome", it's by David Nevue. I have no earthly idea who this guy is, but I had heard some of his music on another blog and really liked it, so I looked him up on Playlist and found some of his songs...I really like them, a lot of them are peaceful and relaxing, so here is one that I liked.
With this one, you don't have to go to the bottom of the Playlist, it's just the second song on there.
Tell me what you think.

-Rose.

P.S. My thoughts on Requiem for a Dream by X-Ray Dog:
1. This song is definitely NOT relaxing!:)
2. It is most certainly 'battle based', immediately putting battle images into your head.
3. The mix of drums, symbols and violin, I have found for the most part, always create a fast,
battle filled and dramatic piece of music...this song has a mixture of all and the result is a fast,
action filled piece. Unlike Crusaders, it has more 'battle' like music in it, and is not as mournful, but like Crusaders, is a very dramatic song....once again, my type! :) :P

I Am So Sorry! :(

Girls, I know that your going to think I'm crazy, but I just realized that I haven't even
sent out your prizes for the Picture Taking Contest yet!
My friend and I are working on it, so please-I know this is a lot to ask of you-please be patient.
I'm going to ask you one more time, so that I don't miss anybody, to please send me your addresses, favorite colors and names.
I think, I'm not sure, but I think that there are four winners all together, but I want to be certain.

Thank you for your patients! :)

What Was He THINKING????

IDIOT QUOTE OF THE CENTURY

'My friends, we live in the greatest nation in the history
of the world. I hope you'll join with me as we try to
change it.'

- Barack Obama

Can you really believe this?! I mean, this is hopeless! Definitely 'Idiot Quote of the Century'! If this guy thinks this is the 'greatest nation in history', why does he want to change it? I bet as soon as that came from his mouth, he wanted to go and bury his head in some sheets from embarrassment! I don't know what to say about it, do you?

Fall is Here!

Fall is finally here ladies!
Autumn is my favorite time of the year.....Here is a picture that I found off of Google, seeing that
I didn't have one of my own, but, I have hiked this trail many a time with my dad and brother.
We call this the 'Ghost Mountain Trail', my dad, when he was a little boy, used to come up to this place. It was an old cable car place, and my dad would take a ride here every now and again.
(Thus the paved road) The cable cars are no longer here, but the paved road is, somewhat cracked and dirty, but it still remains.
Up at the top, there is the foundation where a store and restaurant used to stand; you can still see the old drains from the kitchens and bathrooms. Dad used to come there while it was still in business, so he remembers where every thing was at.
If you veer off a bit from the road about half way up, there is a small deer trail, and if you follow that trail, you'll eventually end up at a sight where some old cabins used to stand.
All in all, this place is REALLY neat.
Anyway, here is a picture of Fall in the North Carolina mountains!

Found!

I don't know much at this time but.....FOUND!!!
Praise God, they found the mother and her son today in the woods.
All I know is that they're taking her and (I believe) the boy to the hospital.
Thank you for all of your prayers!

P.S. Please still feel free to comment on the "Requiem for a Dream" post, you still have till

The Sister of a Friend of Ours Is Missing...Please Pray

We'd appreciate your prayers;
A sister of a friend of ours went missing yesterday morning.
She has a seven year-old son and went on foot into the woods early in the morning.
They have not seen her since and the second day of the search is coming to a close.
Please pray for the mother and her son and our friend and his wife.

Thanks.

Requiem for a Dream by X-Ray Dog....

Okay,
NOW I'm pleased with the comments on "Crusaders"!
Here are the results:

Hi Hannah,
I am so sorry that I did not post sooner I had started but something must of happened and it get closed because I had thought I had posted but guess not.

When I listen to the song since it is about the crusaders I think of them so first I see the crusader army marching through the desert hills with there armor and banners bravely streaming in the wind yet they stagger they are very weary with the hot sun beating down on them. Then up on a hill before them the enemy appears and charges down on them. It turns into a ragging battle as one army strives with the other then quickly the battle is over the enemy had ridden off as fast as they came it was but a raid to exhaust the crusaders more and the crusaders are left to look over the dead cover them with the sand and then with grim determination march on towards Jerusalem more exhausted and sad at the loss of more of there brave comrades. Then after there long day they start to brake for camp.

Maybe I have to much imagination but that is what I see when I hear it. I am glad you put it on I really like it.
I will try to be a bit more prompt in the future with my thoughts on your songs that you have up for judging.

Your friend
Rebecca Marie

Don't you absolutely hate it when only one person comments? I get that ALL THE TIME. :P
Anyway, I listened to the music... it was amazing!! It sounded like music from Lord of the Rings movies (if you've ever seen those). It was really nice. I enjoyed it! :)

Well, I think of Narnia or some other mythical battle thing. It really could change people's emotions in a movie. But I mostly saw the men lined up, glaring at their enemy, far away across the battlefield. And then bravely charging into battle. It reminds me so much of the battle in Narnia:The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe that that kind of thing crossed my mind instantly. Couldn't be helped, I guess.

Dear Hannah... What a powerful song!!!
This might seem funny, but I manly envisioned Queen Esther gathering the courage that she needed to stand before the king and beg for her peoples' lives.

What a great idea!

I think that is a really cool song! I totally envision a very passionate battle. And I can definitely see myself in the movie theater getting very scared listening to this song. I really do like it!......

Well, that's great! Keep 'em coming!
Okay, now, down to business; This band, X-Ray Dog, makes music for movie previews, and even though I don't particularly care for his band title, I love most of his music! My brother has asked me to post this song, "Requiem for a Dream" by these people, so here it is. Do as in the first post and scroll down to the bottom of the Playlist. This song is definitely 'battle music', and that is just one more reason why I'm not going to leave this song on here for more than a week.

One note, the movie, "Requiem for a Dream", should most certainly NOT be seen by Christian people!
I myself have not seen it and don't plan to, but I have read reviews on it, and a short summery is this:
Drug addicts and adult situations.
So please, do NOT see the movie! The music, I think is NOT worthy of the movie. My brother and I have a saying: "Bad movie, Good music!"
So, that's just a warning.

Oh, and before I forget, here's my review on "Crusaders" by Harry-Gregson Williams:
This music is a great piece, it definitely is leaned toward 'battle/action' scenes, but is also mournful in a way. The vocals at the beginning are low, therefore giving you the sad/mourning feel. As the song goes on, the vocals become higher and the drums start to kick in a bit more, giving it the 'battle/action' feel.
All in all, a VERY dramatic song (just my type!)
Hope you all enjoyed it!

Crusaders and Musical Mondays...

Hello again.
I must say, I was quite disappointed when only one person commented on my last post!
(*Crosses arms* Where are all you girls at anyway?!:)
You have two days left to post a comment about "Crusaders" by Harry-Gregson Williams, because on
Monday, I am going to put up another song (or pick one already on my playlist) for you to judge.

Every Monday, I hereby name "Musical Monday"! I will be posting new pieces of music and you will be the judge. i.e. Tell me what you think about that piece; what you see when you listen to it, how you feel when you hear it....just write it down on the comment forum!

PLEASE comment! :)

Thanks.

Crusaders by Harry-Gregson Williams

Alright,
Who is familiar with Harry-Gregson Williams?
I like most of his music, and I just added one of his pieces-Crusaders- to the bottom of my
Playlist. Please scroll down to the bottom and click it; what do you envision? Let me know,
this is just a fun experiment that I'm playing with...music is VERY powerful, and I've decided to
do a test on my blog readers to get their opinions on the music; how it effects them and what they see
in their mind when listening to it.

I'm starting with "Crusaders" because, if you don't like it, I probably won't leave it on my blog
for long (even though I love this piece), it just doesn't seem fitting for this blog! :)

Next week I'll move on to the first piece of music at the top of the Playlist, so be sure to check back often!
