The Simple Woman's Day Book: Week Five

Hi everyone,
I'm so sorry about not posting in a while; as you know, the Father & Daughter Retreat is coming up, so we're getting ready for that, and we're also trying to get some school done. In other words...it has been VERY busy!
We're having a Bible study here at our house every Tuesday evening, and my mom and I cook dinner for about 23 people, including us. Right now, my dad is out of town, so we didn't have it this time, but next week, the evening before the F/D Retreat, we're doing it. Please be praying for my mom and I as we cook for all of these people, and please pray for my dad as he leads the study.

Alright, now, since I have to go and feed the horses here in a minute, I'll do something quick:

For Today: March 18th, 2009
Outside my window: It is late evening; my favorite time of day. :) The sun is out and the wind is blowing slightly, mixing in with the last trills of birdsong.
I am thinking: About how I just described the above answer. :)
I am thankful for: Days like this.
From the kitchen: Nothing. All is quiet. (Though I do hear the dog barking outside)
I am wearing: Beige colored shorts and a pink shirt that says "Lee".
I am reading: Stepping Heavenward, my Bible and Doomwyte.
I am hoping: To go to bed soon...I'm tiered! :)
I am hearing: My keyboard, computer vent, mom talking to Bekah and my breathing.
Around the house: Fairly clean.
One of my favorite things: My Purity Locket from Vision Forum.
I accomplished since last week: Getting up on time.
A few plans for the rest of the week: I really want to draw something...but I don't know what.

Hi everyone!
I'm very sorry for not posting in a while; we've been very busy getting ready for the Father & Daughter Retreat and all. :) I'm very excited! Unfortunately, I don't have time for a long post, so I'm just going to do a Simple Woman's Day Book. Once again, I am sorry. I will try and post more diligently. :)

For Today: March 7th, 2009
Outside my window: Spring!!! *is very happy* It's sunny and in the 70s. The birds are singing like crazy and the air carries in it all of the wonderful smells of spring.
I am thinking: About finishing this to feed the dog. :)
I am thankful for: Spring!
From the kitchen: Water fountain and some peaceful Classical music.
I am wearing: Light blue skirt and pink shirt with flowers on it.
I am reading: Stepping Heavenward (still), my Bible and Doomwyte. (A Re dwall book)
I am hoping: To go for a walk this afternoon.
I am hearing: My keyboard, computer vent, water fountain, Classical music and the washing machine.
Around the house: Clean!
One of my favorite things: My Purity Locket from Vision Forum.
I accomplished since last week: Making my bed when I get up.
A few plans for the rest of the week: Well, it's Saturday. I guess getting ready for church and possibly going on a walk.

Callaway Gardens & and the Father Daughter Retreat

First off, let me say that Callaway Gardens is the most beautiful place that I've ever seen.
Second, let me say that it's the best place in the world to have the Father & Daughter Retreat.
Lord willing, my dad and I will be going at the end of March, and I am very excited. This will be our third year, and last year, we took our bikes for the first time. We went a day early, and it was a seven hour drive. When we got there, we registered, unpacked everything and got settled in our room, and then went for the best bike ride that I've ever been on. You feel like you could just fall asleep (if you wouldn't wreck:) it was just so peaceful! There were flowers of all sorts, and lots of butterflies and squirrels. It was just so much fun. Over the next few days, we rode probably all over the place in every spare moment of free time. We did the games there, and that's a ton of fun. There's this one game where you are blindfolded, and you have to follow you father's voice through this obstacle course, but if you don't....you'll fall in a stream. :) (or trip on a log....)
The meals there are WONDERFUL...and a bit fattening. :D But, nevertheless, it's great fun. If you haven't been, I'd encourage you to go. It's an excellent opportunity to talk to your father about his past and learn about him, spend time with him, talk with him, and ultimately, open your heart to him and grow closer to him. The Father & Daughter Retreat is a wonderful thing in my life, and I am so thankful that my Daddy will take time to go on a seven hour trip down to Callaway Gardens and spend four days down there, listening to wonderful talks and spending time with his unworthy daughter.

Outside my window: Cool, cloudy and a few snow flakes.
I am thinking: Getting this done so that mom can do something on here .
I am thankful for: My crazy brother who is watching me do this. :)

I am hoping: That God would help me to be a better daughter.

Around the house: Fairly clean.

Hello,
Yes....here they are...the Civil War Ball pictures that quite a few of you have been dying to see.
I'm sorry that they're so blurry; there was a lot of movement and the camera wasn't cooperating. :(
Anyway, here they are:


















And here's a few random ones. It snowed last week, and I went outside to take some pictures. When I stepped out into the cold, crisp air...I was suddenly Susan Pevensie in Narnia. (minus the bow, three other siblings, strange creatures, a White Witch and a roaring lion:)









Then there's always that very random picture that you just love, and have to show the world:







And then again, there's the sore foot that you cut on Sunday, propped up in a chair as you type. (Sorry about it looking so bad...but it was a bad cut. I've made it small for those with a weak stomach, so if you do want to see it, just click on the picture.) It was Sunday morning. The night before, we had gotten everything ready to go in the morning. Well, we were going to be picking up two people to take to our church, so dad had to take another car, and my sister and brother were going to ride with him. I got Rebekah in the car and was buckling her seat belt. Dad got in and started it. I quickly moved away from in between the car and wall, but as I walked away, the top of my foot caught on a big screw that was sticking out of a board laying on the floor. They went on, and I hobbled inside to go upstairs and show mom. It was bleeding really bad...so...now here I am with a cut in my foot, and trying not to put too much wait on it. Oh well. That's my life. :P :D

I'm terribly sorry for not posting in a while; I was going to try to on Saturday, but we went to a Civil War Ball in Virginia. (If I can, I'll try to post the pictures soon; but it may be next week.)
Anyway, here is The Simple Woman's Day Book. I'm going to strive to do one every week until the end of the year.
