For the Name of Christ

"If you are insulted for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you."
1 Peter 4:14

"Blessed are you when people hate you and when they exclude you and revile you and spurn your name as evil, on account of the Son of Man!"
Luke 6:22

So very true, isn't it?
I was thinking about this today, and decided to SAY something....
A lot of Christians leave the internet and blogging world because one time too many they find their names on some forum where people make fun of them because they are Christians and do fight for Christ.
Why do they leave? Well, if their lives are at stake, which, if you don't give out a lot of personal information, they won't be, then I can see the reasoning behind it...but 95% of the time, it's because they're scared.
We can't be scared. We have to speak what we believe, no matter what they say about us. And on the other hand, we do NOT hate them and return evil for evil in speaking bad of them....we pray for them.  That's another problem. A lot call themselves Christians, and as soon as they find their reputations made fun of, they turn around (and in a very UN-Christian like manner) slander them! What good on this entire, vast, massive, HUGE planet does that do!?
Um...nothing. Actually, yes, it does - it throws fuel into the fire. That's what it does.
The Bible says that we are to be blameless, and having "no appearance of evil".
As Christians, we take the insult, go our way, forgive them, and pray for them.
That's what we do.
Let me tell y'all - Jesus didn't turn around and holler insults back at those mocking Him, and further, he didn't turn and run. He took it. What a God we have! He took it! In doing so, what happened? He heaped burning coals on their heads! What did He say on the cross?
"Father, forgive them; they know not what they do."

I pray for all of those who hate me...I know they're out there. I haven't met them, I don't know a thing about them, but I do know that they're out there. How?

"If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you."
John 15:18-19

So, whoever you are...I pray for you. I know you may hate me...you may make fun of me and say bad things, but I pray for you anyway. I'm not angry at you....
Dear friends, please look to Christ - He is the way - the only way.

God bless you, and those of you who Blog for Him, don't be afraid....don't be hateful. Christ forgave......shouldn't we?

High, High Up In The Sky

....I wonder where that plane is going.
I like watching planes. Sometimes, when I go to feed the horses in the morning, the sun is just piercing the horizon, setting fire to the clouds and outlining in hot colors the streams of a plane, glaring off of the steel surface. I crane my neck back, watching it high, high up in that huge sky. I think,
"Wow...wouldn't that be so amazing to be on a plane heading for Japan right now, this early in the morning?"
I'd love to...I really would. But sadly, lack of money, TSA scanners, and an entire ocean lay between me and it. I look at maps and think, "So far away, yet it seems so close."
I want to go. I want to be high up in the sky on that plane...

It's so high...so very, very high.

2011 Vision Forum Writing Contest Winners

Well, they were announced yesterday.
Ahem...as I predicted...I didn't win, BUT, that's OK. I'm posting my story here! Actually, I'm going to make a page called "My Writings" - you can go there and read it. :) And naturally, if I write anything else, I'll stick it up there, too.

On a different note...boy have I had a morning! (And yesterday...) Yesterday, Nathan and Dad went out to the pasture to split it with electric rope so we could wean Max easier/give the pasture a break so it can grow grass. So they get it all up...metal poles and a couple of wooden ones. Let me back up...Silkie wasn't happy about this to start with. She tipped over the new water trough we got 'cause she didn't like it. Then she kept running around the pasture showing off because she didn't like what dad and Nate were doing. Finally, after they got the fence up and pulsing, Max decided to go check it out. He goes over, touches it with his nose, NATURALLY in between pulses, so he doesn't get shocked, decides he doesn't like it, and RUNS THROUGH IT. Oh, he saw it alright. He just decided he didn't like it there, so he tore right through it, BROKE a metal pole, KNOCKED a wooden one loose that was CEMENTED into the ground, and tore the ropes up. Needless to say, he about got his rear-end kicked past the barn.
On TOP of that, they got into dad's stuff in the truck, tore up his jacket, pulled stuff out, trampled it, and then ran away before they could do anything.
      Sooo....this morning.....
We go up to the barn to feed. The sun is just rising. I notice when I enter the barn and turn on the lights that Silkie's halter is lopsided over one ear - apparently she had rubbed it into that position on something. I walk past her stall, and notice that the feed bucket is on the floor inside. Going in, I pick it up....broke. This is a rubber feed bucket that hangs on the wall with a metal handle...now bent beyond repair. And finally, this morning, Marshall escapes from the pasture...for the second time. So I had to run outside barefooted and chase him down. I put him in the confinement of the barn...we'll see what happens.
Oh, did I mention that my chicken Day is missing an eye? ...I thought I did.

Sigh...

                        Life must go on.....

The Sable Quean - Last in the Redwall Series

It came a few days ago - the last in the Redwall series. It was published in October of last year, and I've been wanting it since then. When my friend told me that Brian Jacques had died, we went to the Barns and Noble website and ordered it. :) (Too bad it takes a death to make you buy the book! 0.0)

Anyway, it's very good so far - I'm enjoying it!
I was sitting on my couch today, and it was storming outside; I had my window down, so I could hear the thunder and the rain and the wind, and see my curtains billowing inward. I snuggled down and picked up my book, smiling to myself....it had been a long time since I could sit down like that and just READ! =D I really enjoyed it. :)

Dat Wushu Cat....

We have a joke at our house by calling Shina a "Wushu Cat"...don't ask why...I'm not sure where it came from...
Anyway, we say "Ah pussy cat, ah Wushu cat...she practices Wushu day and night...mostly at night..."
Weird, I'll admit...but there's a reason for it: she gets into everything and does the most ridiculous stunts you've ever seen!
Here's one thing she enjoys doing...

getting into the dog bowl for a nap....

The Fog's White Breath is Frozen Outside....

It is, and it's raining!!!
I'm so glad! We've needed rain for the longest time - God is so good.
Today we had some friends come over, and spent a long time just talking. Don't you love it when you can just sit down with someone and talk? The fellowship of the saints is so precious.....you just need to talk, and you can. About almost anything. We had a good time - we all did our share of laughing. :)
My friend also gave me a little something her mom found - it's a medallion for the Korean War. I've got it up on my bulletin board right now:

Thanks, friend!

Anyway....I love the rain. My friend and I were talking about it at lunch, looking out the window at it falling from ash gray skies. It puts you in such a reverie frame of mind, if you ask me. I love to sit there and just watch it. It's so nice. It's still raining right now....pit-pat against my window. The fog is frozen outside. The wind is blowing. It's so lovely. (And if I write in my journal, the color of the pen is absolutely purple!!!) I love rain. I can sit and think...about everything. I can pray for people, watching the little drops of water and knowing that if God rules these, He without a doubt rules those people.
I walked outside today in muck boots and a blue jacket, along with a black toboggan, to go and switch the horses around; as I said something to Nathan, I saw my breath form into a white fog, and when Nathan replied, his did, too. I took in the sensation of the cold that was biting my face, and the little wind-blown droplets of water that misted my eyes, and the sounds of rain falling through the trees....I took it all in. I closed my eyes for a second, breathed deeply, and enjoyed it.
I love my dear friends. Those I see often, those that are far away...they're so...amazing. We all have our faults. All of us. Sometimes we get kinda ticked at the other....but....we have to forgive. None of us are perfect, by any means. We're all sinful. Horribly, sinful. We have to remember it.
Sometimes those we know are blinding by the bright lights of the world....we have to pray for them. Pray that they'll get back on track.
Something I've come to realize: no one's on the same page on everything. No one. A lot of us look for a person that thinks exactly the same way we do, but it doesn't happen. We have to accept them, pray for them, and realize that they probably think the same thing about us. But, think about it....assuming you're both Christians, we have fellowship in Christ to share!!!
When Jesus was with His disciples, I'm guessing that they were NOT on the "same page" as Him on everything. They tried to be, in a lot of cases, but in so many things, I'm sure they weren't. There's always disagreement between friends. There's never a perfect friendship.
That, dear readers, is something we must remember.

I love you all, dear friends. I love you all....

Always Fighting,
